Chapter Eleven

“So where are we going this time, Mystery Man?” Erin eyed Jon out of the corner of her eye as they sped through the early nightlife of Jersey.

Jon grinned. “You like dancing?”

Erin paused. “That depends on who I’m dancing for.”

Jon smirked. “For? You are a naughty thing…”

“I think we already established that,” Erin winked. “So, dancing, huh? Please don’t tell me I’m under-dressed…”

Jon shook his head. “No, you’re not. It ain’t ballroom dancing, baby. I’m taking you to Club Rocket – the hottest dance scene in the city.”

Erin snorted. “Is that a line from a movie?”

“No, I’m just that suave.” Jon tried, and failed, to suppress a grin.

Erin laughed, feeling a crazy twinge in her stomach that she hadn’t felt since high school.

They pulled up outside Club Rocket to find the neon lights striking against the dark night sky, and a throng of people already gathered in front of the entrance. Erin had never been to the club, but she had heard the name tossed around before and understood it to be the Friday/Saturday night “place to be”.

Jon pulled up in the valet lane and hopped out of the car to talk to the attendant before opening the door for Erin.

“Come on, baby,” he slid his arm around her waist, sending shivers up her spine as he led her toward a side entrance. “I prefer not to make a scene.”

Erin said a silent prayer. “Fine with me. Besides, I’d rather have you all to myself tonight,” she winked.

Jon squeezed her waist and smirked. “That isn’t going to be a problem.”

They approached a side door where a large man in a black suit stood guard, admitting a couple of other VIP guests. And by large, Erin estimated he was easily twice as thick and three times as strong as a heavyweight champion. In fact, he probably was a heavyweight champion.

He smiled in recognition when he saw Jon. “Mr. Bon Jovi,” he said in a deep, low voice. “How you been, man?”

Jon grinned and clapped the bouncer’s massive shoulder. “Good, good. Just taking the lady friend out for a spin tonight,” he winked.

The man smiled at Erin and whistled. “I’d stay inside Elmo’s tonight, Jon. You don’t want anyone else to get their hands on this one.”

Jon laughed. “Thanks, Bear.”

Bear nodded and motioned them inside, through a small entry hallway. “Have fun.”

Jon ushered Erin through the door and she leaned over, whispering quietly in his ear, “His name is Bear?”

“Are you surprised?” Jon whispered back.

Erin smiled. “No, I guess not. I wouldn’t want to get on his bad side…”

“No, you really wouldn’t,” Jon laughed. “He’s one tough body guard.” He pushed aside a heavy velvet curtain at the end of the entryway. “Anyway, welcome to Elmo’s – the VIP lounge of Club Rocket.”

Erin couldn’t help but feel impressed as they entered the club, immediately greeted by the bone-shattering sound of music. A giant room sprawled out before her, a fully modern nightclub style design.

While it was mostly dark, the porcelain floor gleamed and shone. Loveseats and sofa seats were scattered around the room in a grid pattern, and palm tree planters dotted the room around them. Modern disco lights threw beams of colored light everywhere, illuminating certain points of the room and casting the rest in shadow, and a giant silver disco ball claimed the very center of the ceiling and room, clearly for decoration only. A winding white step railing staircase in the corner led to a second floor that overlooked the first, with tables and chairs set up there as well.

Toward the other end of the room, the floor turned into a smooth, polished wooden dance floor and a DJ was positioned behind a massive stand, mixing discs and turntables, music pounding out of the twenty-foot-high speakers. The walls were made of brick, and the bar on the opposite wall was huge and white, catching the light colors to create a neon effect. An elaborate neon sign depicted a fire-themed logo and the word ELMO’S, then CLUB ROCKET VIP below it, on the wall behind the bar. The barstools and single table stands were chrome and reminded Erin of The Jetsons…if they had been millionaires and went out clubbing.

She raised an eyebrow.

“Wow,” she shouted over the music. “They don’t call it VIP for nothing, I guess.”

Jon laughed. “Why don’t you go find a seat and I’ll get us some drinks.”

Erin nodded and meandered through the lounge, finally settling on a purplish loveseat in the corner, by the dance floor. She sat down and sank into the soft cushions, knowing instantly that she liked this place. She watched Jon at the bar as he gave the bartender his order and leaned over the counter to wait. Even from her distance, Erin could see the way his jeans fit over his ass, and she felt the early stirrings of arousal. She shook her head in disbelief. The effects one man could have on a woman’s very core…

When Jon found her, he set down two giant martini glasses, complete with three olives speared on a thin silver pick, on the drink table in front of the sofa. “Dirty,” he said loudly, above the crash of the music.

Erin raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me?”

“The martinis,” Jon winked. “Although they aren’t the only things in this room that are dirty.”

Erin opened her mouth in mock offense. “Hey now. You ain’t much better, Bon Jovi!”
Jon laughed. “No, admittedly, I’m not. Shall we drink?”

Erin smirked and picked up her glass. She leaned forward and kept her eyes on his, struck again by his deep blue prisms. “To…new adventures,” she said slyly.

A slow smile spread across Jon’s features and he nodded. “To new adventures.”

They clinked glasses and drank, the familiar burn of gin somehow enticing and desirous as it slid down Erin’s throat. She suddenly felt slightly apprehensive – as if the night was heading on a set path in a certain direction and she couldn’t control it. She’d felt that before, but tonight the pull seemed stronger, the path treacherous and risky, yet exciting nonetheless.

And at the same time, she didn’t think she’d object to where it would lead.

She looked out at the dance floor and mentally shook herself. She set down her glass and stood up, peeling off her coat as she watched the crowd grinding and swaying. “Come on,” she shouted to Jon. “Let’s dance!”

Jon shook his head. “I’m not much of a dancer,” he shrugged.

“Wimp.” Erin teased good-naturedly.

Jon smiled. “You go. I’ll watch,” he winked.

Erin shrugged. “Suit yourself.”

She moved out onto the dance floor and joined the crowd of people, the music deafening and the smell of sweat and liquor obvious. Despite being an infrequent visitor to bars and dance clubs, Erin knew how to dance. She immediately began moving to the beat of the music, swinging her hips as she disappeared in the crowd.

She quickly lost herself in the music, unaware of anything but the beat and the dance floor, her body moving naturally in a sexy rhythm. She danced with others, grinding and swinging and touching as each person on the floor became one, lost in another world. Every so often she caught a glimpse of Jon, watching her intently, and she’d smile to herself. Discreetly, she made her movements more obvious: swinging her hips wider, plunging on her legs deeper, tossing her hair and raising her arms higher, throwing back her head to tease him. She could tell Jon was fighting with himself on that loveseat.

Erin was sweating and flushed by the time the DJ slowed things down and switched tracks. As Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want to Miss A Thing poured out over the lounge, the dance floor began emptying as people sought the comfort of couches to relax and get a drink. Erin wasn’t tired, but she began moving toward Jon, wondering if he’d be willing to join her for this dance.

She was intercepted mid-stride by a tall, rather good-looking man she’d seen on the floor earlier. He had a cocky smile and chiseled features, and he grinned as he held out his hand to her. “Would you like to dance?” he leaned over and said in her ear.

Erin smiled and shook her head. “No thank you,” she said politely. “My date’s right over there –”

The man didn’t seem to hear her. He kept grinning and grabbed her around the waist, forcing her into a tight grip as he began to slowly dance with her. She opened her mouth in surprise and instinctively put her arms around his shoulders, unsure what to do.

Several seconds later, Jon appeared at their side and tapped the man on the shoulder. “Excuse me,” he said smoothly. “That’s my date you’re dancing with.”

The man’s eyes widened slightly as he took Jon in. Whether he recognized him or not, Erin wasn’t sure, but he sneered and pulled away.

Jon took his place, slipping his arms gently around Erin’s waist and pulling her closer. She moved into him, watching the fire ignite in his eyes as their bodies touched.

“I thought you didn’t dance?” Erin winked.

Jon’s eyes never left hers. “I make exceptions every now and then.”

Erin smiled. “I’m glad. I love this song.”

She melted into him and rested her head on his shoulder, listening to the words as a chill crept up her spine.

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

They moved together, swaying slowly to the music and losing themselves in each other, as everything else seemed to simply drop away.

Erin’s blood was pounding in her veins, rushing through her body as she fought with the crazy feeling to surrender her self-control and lower her inhibitions. Electricity was igniting every nerve at the feel of Jon’s body against hers, and her skin was on fire at his very touch. Senses completely overwhelmed, she nearly grew dizzy with longing and desire as they moved around the dance floor in unison.

I just want to hold you close; feel your heart so close to mine
And stay here in this moment, for all the rest of time

As the song came to an end, they pulled away from each other and stared at each other, transfixed by the unspoken messages their eyes and bodies were transmitting. Jon’s eyes grew heavy and dark with lust as Erin felt her breathing pick up, and he nodded suddenly toward the left of the dance floor. Erin looked, confused as to what he meant, and gave him a questioning look.

Jon took her hand and silently led her off the floor as the music picked up again into a fast, loud number. They walked toward a corner of the lounge where Erin saw a dark door partially concealed by the shadows, and after a quick glance backward, Jon led her through it.

A dim hallway ran straight down to the back of the building, lined by doors on both sides and red sconces in between. As the door closed behind them, the music and noise were entirely shut out and they were plunged into silence.

Soundproof doors. Erin’s eyes widened as she realized what the place was, and her heart rate picked up as Jon moved down the hall until he found an open doorway. He plucked a golden key off of a hook by the doorframe and ushered Erin inside, locking the door behind them.

The room was small, but as the lounge outside, impressive. A massive bed took up most of the floor space, covered in deep red sheets and a red and golden-laced plush comforter, bedecked by no less than a dozen elegant pillows at the headboard. More sconces, larger this time, gave off a soft red glow and made the whole room sensual and intimate with little effort.

Erin eyed Jon suspiciously as he threw his coat on a small, dark bench in the corner. “Jon,” she said strangely. “Have you been here before?”

Jon shook his head as he removed his belt and set it with his coat. “No. But I’ve heard about it.”

Erin stood rooted to the floor, battling with desire and apprehension as Jon turned around. “I didn’t mean to be so forward,” he said, his expression unreadable. “We don’t have to stay here if you’re uncomfortable.”

Erin shook her head. “I’m not. I was just surprised.”

They stared at each other as blinding passion welled up inside both of them. “Jon,” Erin murmured softly.

Jon didn’t move.

“Jon,” she muttered again, almost moaning. Jon looked at her, fixing her with a gaze that almost knocked her off her feet – his eyes were smoldering, burning with such passion and desire that she whimpered in spite of herself. He moved toward her slowly, never leaving her eyes, and Erin’s breathing became ragged.

Christ, she wanted him. Now.

She reeled herself in and forced herself to stay put, allowing him to approach her until he was standing right in front of her and she could smell the mixture of sweat and cologne on him – a musky, sexy smell of man that overwhelmed her senses and sent her flying. She crushed her mouth onto his, forcing her fingers up into his hair and pulling his head down toward her as he grabbed her waist and pressed his body into hers. She could instantly feel the arousal in his jeans, and as their mouths and tongues danced ferociously, she reached one hand down to grip him between his legs. Jon jolted and groaned, and pressed himself into her more.

Erin’s patience was dwindling rapidly, and she fumbled with the snap on his jeans for a second before ripping them open and plunging her hand inside. He growled low in his throat as she closed her fingers around his hardness and began to massage him, squeezing and releasing and stroking in all the right places. He pulled away from her just enough to catch a breath and moan her name, “Erin…”

He allowed her to continue for a few more seconds, then abruptly pulled her hand out of his pants and grabbed her around the waist, pressing her up against the wall behind her. He slid his arm beneath her ass and lifted her up onto him, and she wrapped her legs around his waist tightly. His jeans were still open, and she ground her center against his, delighting in his small cry of pleasure.

Their mouths met hungrily again, and Jon’s tongue danced with hers while he struggled with her pants, trying to get them open with one hand. She released one arm from around his neck to help him; within a second her pants were open, and Jon slid them off her waist and halfway down her thighs. He smiled devilishly at the sight of her black thong, and as his eyes met hers, he ripped the thin lace in one strong tug.

Erin gasped, then shivered as he pulled the garment away from her body, pulling the string between her legs and sliding it along her most sensitive area. He threw it on the ground behind him and yanked his own underwear down, meeting her eyes once again before wrapping both arms around her waist and plunging into her. Erin cried out in surprise and pleasure, and tightened her legs around his waist to bring him closer into her. Jon began thrusting hard, slamming into her as deep as he could and causing her body to tremble almost instantly as she groaned and clawed his back. His breathing in her ear was heavy and labored, and she moaned his name over and over again in his.

She clenched her arms and legs around his body as the first wave overtook her, and when she screamed out he only picked up the pace, gritting his teeth against release until she quieted. Then he growled loudly in her ear as he spilled into her, breathing hard as he collapsed against her body. They both stood still for a minute, letting their bodies calm slightly before Jon gently set her down. Erin’s legs were shaking from the workout and she laughed as she moved over to the bed.

“Damn, Jon,” she breathed. “What a release.”

Jon looked over at her with the same piercing fire in his eyes and cocked an eyebrow. “No shit,” he admitted. “But I’m nowhere near done with you, woman.”

“Good," Erin smiled mischievously. "Neither am I.”
